Superheroes won the battle at St. Mary's
The theme at St. Mary's for lab 3 was superheroes and boy was it a blast. The students were so excited seeing all of us dressed up in different superhero costumes. We taught the students a few different motorskills including the leap, jump, and slide. Not all of them picked up on it right away, but after playing all the activities they got alot better at them. Personally this lab was my favorite one yet, not only because of the theme but I really enjoyed working with the pre schoolers. I feel that I connected with them better than any other group and had a lot of fun running around with them out on the playground. I hope all the students at St. Mary's had an awsome time and hope they learned alot about the skills we were trying to teach them.

What a Day!!! 1st Lab at St. Mary's
What a day at St. Mary's, I believe it was a success! I saw that everyone was really nervous and really not sure what to expect, but I also saw everyone leaving with a huge smile on their faces anticipating the next time we get to come back. We tryed to teach the kids alot of new games and activities that gave them a better understanding of all the motor skills we were trying to get across. I thought all the kids we worked with were willing to learn and thought they clicked with all of us right away. Can't wait to get back there and work with all the great kids at St.Mary's.

Young kids okay to play with long stick implements ??
It could be the best time someone has when their a kid, playing baseball, hockey, lacrosse or even tennis. But is it safe for young children to play with long implements at such a young age? Not knowing what harm they can do to thereselves or others around them. I believe if they are taught at a young age by responsible adults who also supervise them in their actions then a young child should be allowed to play with long sticks such as a baseball bat, tennis racket and hockey or lacrosse stick. Now on the otherhand, if a child is just running around with a stick being reckless and not informed on how to use it or the dangers it could have, then I dont believe they should be allowed to use them. It is all based on how they were taught on the use of them and how they learn and respond to their actions.
How fundamental moving skills fit together with physical education
In Physical Education, students acquire the knowledge and skills for movement that provide the foundation for enjoyment, continued social development through physical activity, and access to a physically-active lifestyle. The student exhibits a physically-active lifestyle and understands the relationship between physical activity and health throughout the lifespan.
I do believe that having good fundamental moving skills is essential and does fit in with physical education because so many of the activities you take part have many levels of skills where you need good motor skills.

1st day of Motor Develpoment
When class first started on I was kind of nervous. When all the papers were being passed out I got a little nervous that we were getting an assignment already. Then Professor Yang took us on a tour of the building and where we would be able to find everywhere we would need to know. In all it was a good 1st class and we will see how the next goes.
